How to sleep well?

Difficulty falling asleep, lying awake in bed, easily waking up, waking up too early—these chronic insomnia problems are commonplace for modern city dwellers. From the perspective of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), insomnia is both a disease in itself and can also be a symptom of other illnesses, representing an imbalance in the body's Qi, blood, Yin, and Yang. Get to know three soothing and sleep-promoting dietary remedies to help you sleep well every night!


1. Longan Meat Congee

  • Ingredients: 15g longan meat, 7 pieces of red dates (jujube), 100g non-glutinous rice. Cook together to make congee.

  • Benefits: Nourishes the heart and calms the spirit, fortifies the spleen and supplements blood. Suitable for symptoms like palpitations, restlessness, insomnia, forgetfulness, and anemia caused by insufficient heart blood.


2. Licorice, Wheat, and Date Depression-Relieving Tea

  • Ingredients: 1 qian (approx. 3.75g) of licorice root, 2 liang (approx. 75g) of wheat, 4 red dates. Brew as tea.

  • Benefits: Calms the spirit and stabilizes the mind, relieves depression and stabilizes mood. Particularly effective for emotional instability, low stress tolerance, neurosis, menopause, etc.


3. Rose and Sour Jujube Calming Tea

  • Ingredients: 2 qian (approx. 7.5g) of crushed sour jujube seeds, 5 dried rose buds. Brew as tea.

  • Benefits: Soothes the liver and relieves depression, calms the spirit and steadies the heart.
